Kelly Cheung MacDonald is an Associate Attorney with Odom Law Group, APLC, a Professional Legal Corporation. While her legal experience includes significant practice in the areas of special education, higher education, tax resolution, and conservatorships for adults with developmental disabilities, Ms. Cheung MacDonald’s true superpower is her ability to quickly understand new and complex problems, explain them to her clients, and advocate tirelessly on their behalf.

Ms. Cheung MacDonald comes to Odom Law Group, APLC, most recently from UCLA, where she provided legal advice for students on issues including landlord-tenant law, student conduct, personal injury, intellectual property rights, criminal defense, family law, name and gender marker changes, and privacy law. Previous to UCLA, she served as an associate attorney at a civil rights law firm, where she focused on protecting the educational rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. A licensed real estate agent since 2006, she has leveraged her legal and real estate backgrounds to manage property, advise individuals on leasing agreements, oversee remodeling projects, and negotiate landlord-tenant resolutions.

“ We are happy with the support and help we receive from the team at Odom Law Group. They are very professional and dedicated in their approach to our needs. Very helpful and committed to meeting client expectations. Thank you Lisa and her team for taking care of us. We wish you all the best. “

As a first-generation college student, Ms. Cheung MacDonald graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Southern California before completing her Juris Doctor at Whittier Law School. While in law school, she served on the executive board as Juvenile Justice of Moot Court Honors Board, was President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund campus organization and was awarded the Dean’s Citation for Outstanding Service to the Whittier Law School Community.

Service to others is at the core of Ms. Cheung MacDonald’s professional foundation. She has volunteer experience at the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) AIDS Legal Services Project and AIDS Legal Referral Panel, at the LACBA Domestic Violence Project, as well as with the Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles, training and socializing animals for potential adoption. She became an adopter herself to shepherd-lab mix Jax, after pairing up with him for monthly hikes. A former dog walker/pet sitter business owner before the advent of mobile applications, while ahead of her time, she considers it one of her favorite jobs.

As a Los Angeles native who has lived in every corner of the county, Ms. Cheung MacDonald takes pride in fulfilling the dream envisioned by her hardworking parents following their immigration to this city, who sought a better life for their family through entrepreneurship and building a strong community. Her personal interests include sewing and crafting costumes for her family, dancing while no one is watching (although her 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son usually are, and quickly join), and taking Jax on urban stair hikes around Los Angeles.
