Heather Donaldson is an Associate Attorney with Odom Law Group, a Professional Legal Corporation. She specializes in transactional matters such as estate planning, contract negotiations, business issues and matters of corporate law. She meets the needs and interests of individuals, families, partnerships, and businesses both large and small.
Ms. Donaldson comes to our firm with over 12 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. She has served that industry in positions of responsibility covering business management, human resources, company training protocols, contract review, and over 5 years as a compliance officer insuring that the regulatory requirements of government and industry are consistently met with particular regard to cybersecurity for network and internet security.
Today, Ms. Donaldson uses her creativity, experience, and sharp analytical mind to develop successful strategies that protect the interests and assets of her clients allowing them to achieve their desired objectives. When those objectives do not readily present themselves, Ms. Donaldson is at the ready with realistic and achievable recommendations that beget security and success.
Ms. Donaldson’s corporate and business practice includes negotiating and drafting of wide variety of contracts and agreements including business formations and dissolutions, employment and compensation packages, non-competes, asset purchases and sale agreements. Stock purchases and shareholder’s agreements, business planning, development, and various other aspects of corporate law. Her estate planning and real estate practice encompasses all aspects of estate planning services, including drafting revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, special needs trusts, wills, advance health care directives, and durable powers of attorney. Other real estate experience includes real estate purchase agreements, drafting and recording property deeds, commercial and residential leasing matters, permit and licensing matters, and the like.
Ms. Donaldson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Business Law from California State University Northridge in 2011. While continuing to develop her business career in the aerospace industry, she opened a small business in the Santa Clarita Valley in 2013 called The Ranch Flower Shoppe, where she learned she preferred to manage businesses on a much larger scale. Ms. Donaldson then attended Loyola Law School Los Angeles as part of the evening division for working professionals where she graduated as a Juris Doctor with a Corporate Concentration. During her time at Loyola, Ms. Donaldson served on the Evening Student Bar Association, where she eventually served as Social Chair, and then the President of her graduating class. Ms. Donaldson studied business law abroad, at University College Dublin. She earned the Dean’s Service Award in 2020 and also participated as a member of the Covid Special Response Committee. Ms. Donaldson passed the October 2020 Bar exam and was admitted as a lawyer to the California State Bar in 2021.
Ms. Donaldson is a volunteer with many service organizations, including the Children’s Bureau in Palmdale-Lancaster, the Midnight Mission at Skid Row Los Angeles, the Santa Clarita Homeless Shelter, and the Santa Clarita Single Mothers Outreach.
